What is your view on good and evil? I am reading a book by Charles Colson on the subject and I was interested in everyone else's opinion.

I am in the middle of reading a philosophy book (written by a
Christian author). Although I don't agree with his entire reasoning and he assumes quite a bit, his overall thesis seems sound. While I have been reading this book, I have gained a curiosity for what other people think on the following topic....
What do you believe about good and evil?
I will post more of my thoughts later and what this book says, but I would like to here from y'all first. The following questions may help you answer more fully....
Is there such a thing as free will or are our actions the result of circumstance?
If there is such a thing as good and evil, what are the consequences of that?
What determines good and evil?
These are just some starter questions. I understand that this post will fire some people up, but the purpose is to learn how other people think and view the world around them. I ask that this be a friendly environment so I set some ground rules....
--Please post your view only, no criticism on the message board
about anyone elses view. And please do not put other people's
opinions. Let people speak for themselves.
--If you have questions about someone's view, feel free to post for clarification.
The name of the book is "The Problem of Evil" by Charles Colson. If anyone else is reading the book and would like to discuss it, e-mail me and we can talk about it.
